Priorities
-
01
Fiscal Accountability
Ensuring that district resources are directed at programs, services, and staff, as this impacts student learning and their success.
-
02
School Safety
Build on Measure V investments in campus security and infrastructure to ensure our schools are safe, secure, and prepared to respond to emergencies. With Measure AA coming on the November Ballot, I look forward to seeing our schools continue to improve in this area. (I currently serve on the campaign committee for Measure AA)
-
03
Mental Health
With the federal government eliminating our School Based Mental Health Grant, it is important to find ways to strengthen access to counseling and mental health resources so students have the support they need to succeed academically and personally.
-
04
Screen Time & Access
Ensuring each student is being challenged, making sure screen time in the classroom supports learning and to create policies around screen time to protect student's development. Making sure the programs that are being used are impactful and not a way to replace good teaching.
-
05
Building Up Neighborhood Schools
Creating school environments where parents are comfortable and excited to send their child to their neighborhood schools. This has become an issue within our community. Parents are panicked about where to send their child if they don't get into the more desired school. Having strong community schools can help alleviate these concerns.
-
06
Community
Continue to build relationships within our schools. Being present on school campuses will help me connect with families and staff which is an important part of being able to make decisions for our students, staff, and community.
